Is Grab Available in Cebu? How to Use It? [Step by Step Guide]

How to Use Grab Taxi?

Ride-hailing services are increasingly popular and very convenient for travellers. In Cebu, Grab Taxi is available, and it’s the only authorised provider of the service. It’s also widely used in the major cities in the Philippines such as Manila, Davao, and Baguio.

Available Cities in the Philippines
Manila, Cebu, Davao, Bacolod, Baguio, Bataan, Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo, Naga, Pampanga.

Available Countries
Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam.

Why Should I Use Grab Taxi?

Avoid Getting Scammed

Not all but some taxi drivers try to take advantage of you. For example, they don’t set the meter and tell you the estimated fare, which is usually two to three times higher than the actual fee. Or they set the meter but take a circumventing way to make the distance longer telling you that it’s the fastest way. However, you can avoid these annoying experiences by using Grab because you can check the fee, route, and driver in advance. Also, on the app, you can assess the driver’s attitude and behaviour, and it prevents them from committing wrongdoing. However, keep in mind that drivers can also assess customer’s behaviours, so if you were rude, you would have a hard time to book it next time.

Avoid Waiting in A Queue

Waiting in a queue makes you irritated. Especially, if you arrived at the international terminal in the airport, the chances are that you’d need to wait in a long queue to get the taxi because a bunch of aeroplanes somehow arrive at the same time. You can eliminate such waiting time by using Grab.

Cashless Payment

White and yellow metered taxis don’t accept credit and debit cards. Some drivers don’t have enough changes or pretend that they don’t have it and take it as a tip. There is no culture of tipping in the Philippines. However, on the Grab app, you can link your cards with it and pay the fare with your phone.

How to Use It?

Well, before using it, you need to download it first. Here are the links of Grab for both iOS and Android, so please tap and download it.

There is no Uber in the Philippines. Considering the convenience, having Grab is a good advantage for your travel. However, you need to carefully choose the time to go out in the city because the traffic is always heavy. Nevertheless, Cebu is the best place for exploring great nature and beautiful beaches. I bet that you will enjoy it.
